Boys In Tracksuits
JAYA is pleased to announce our latest venture!
Chess is a game of skill and concentration - something that all children could benefit from learning. So with that in mind, we have decided to launch 'Boys In Tracksuits' a new and exciting chess project for children in primary schools. My son, Jermaine, who is only 13 years old! Has an amazing eye for the game and is keen to share and pass on his knowledge to children, so they too can be masters of the game. The ethos is to motivate both young boys and girls to keep them engaged in a game that is filled with knowledge, improving their skill set, staying focused, learning to think two steps ahead; With the outcome of them becoming the best version of themselves. |
Why 'Boys In Tracksuits'?
The name 'Boys In Tracksuits' came around as my son, who regularly wears tracksuits, enjoys playing chess.
On first glances at Jermaine, you would never think that a young boy from inner city London who wears tracksuits, would be interested in the game of chess. Role models are so important and it would be refreshing and lovely for young children, to look at someone like Jermaine, to learn and take inspiration from. It just goes to show, to never judge a book by it's cover! P.s Just because its called Boys In Tracksuits, doesn't mean it's only for boys - girls are of course invited too!! |
